Jonas Colstrup, a real peer and collaborator of the late and influential Jóhann Jóhannsson, composed the scores for the Japanese films Blind Massage (2014) and The Shadow Play (2015) together (2018). While he has scored films independently since collaborating with Jóhann, he has also continued to produce his own music.
At The Crest is the composer's new album, and it will be released by 7K! Records on November 18th, 2022.
The title track of the new album is an engaging and delicate modern classical track, conveying serenity and beautiful atmospherics, while it also demonstrates Colstrup's expert musicianship. Without the restrictions of Colstrup's typical scoring work, At the Crest permitted him to dream big and explore wherever the music got him. The eight-track album was created over a four-year period to allow for full freedom of expression and expansion.
