Alice Torrent comes back with An Ode to Your Sun, a second album that alternates between the gravity of the dynamics of piano and voice, and the possibilities of indie pop, occasionally experimenting with post metal and different kinds of sonic textures. The album began in a simple way, as it was composed and constructed throughout a winter stay in Icelandic environment.
The songs were then transferred to Switzerland to be revised and recorded with musicians who had become friends over time. A few surprises along the way came to mark its period of creation; a protracted sickness that limited Alice Torrent's ability to work on the album during rare high points, the pandemic, and on a positive note, a pregnancy.
The latest piece presented from Torrent's upcoming album, Dry Water and its accompanying video, is an atmospheric track that highlights the artist's emotional vocal, poetic lyrical framework, and overall somber and evocative musicianship.
Johann Meyer, the sound engineer for French metal legends Gojira, did exceptionally mixing the album, and Ted Jensen (The Who, Metallica, Deftones, and others) mastered it in Nashville, Tennessee.
An Ode to your Sun comes out November 11th, 2022 via Irascible Music.
