Soothe is a standout track from Australian synthpop duo Syzygy's debut album Anchor and Adjust, released through It Records. Rebecca Maher and Gus Kenny, both formerly of Melbourne synthpunk band Spotting, and created the new project with the intention to explore electronic sounds and unrestrained pop songwriting.
Rebecca Maher comments: “I was speaking to myself, through myself. Both aware of having these feelings and disconnected from how they were making me feel. Making this record allowed me to create order and meaning. It was both my wake up call and my pep talk for changes I desperately needed in my life.”
Soothe, just like singles that preceded the album, is a stirring number with fine and poetic lyricism.
