English Dream by LUMER

Darkenin Heart

English Dream, the new single by Hull post punk band LUMER, is written as a social commentary, an argumentative and harsh hymn to their country, and is directly analogous to the band's usual tongue in cheek artistic expression.

On the track, lead singer Alex Evans comments: “English Dream tries to epitomise my cynical view of my country. Why are you supposed to put so much in for very little in return? There is this constant battle, it seems, to find any form of joy in the political and social climate that we are currently surrounded by. I feel that we have to crawl on our knees for our leaders whilst very little is being done in protest from our people.”

The single was recorded at The Nave with Alex Greaves, and the mixing was done by Alex Evans with expert assistance from brother William Evans.
