Observes and Selects by Bo Gritz

Darkenin Heart

Noise rock band Bo Gritz make a long-awaited comeback with a standalone song that encapsulates their more experienced songwriting style. With Observes and Selects, the band also make their debut on the famed indie label Glasshouse Records (Mandrake Handshake, For Breakfast), and the possibility of more brand-new music from them is very real.

The band's new sound is noisy and experimental, reflecting the unconventional way the creative process took.

Guitarist/vocalist Finn Holland clarifies: "The lyrics for the song emerged by using cut-up technique. I collected a large bank of words and sentences, collected from many different sources which were then butchered up. Gossip magazines, articles on a murder, manuals from a washing machine were merged and then used to form the lyrics for the songs. ‘Observes and Selects’ (in my view) became something depicting a place confusing and claustrophobic. It’s a short, sharp reintroduction to Bo Gritz, and a taster of things to come.”

Bo Gritz have been gaining respect since 2015 thanks to their early singles and EPs, and their reputation as a live act. Observes and Selects undoubtedly has the band's full-throttle mode impression.

Bo Gritz are composed of Finn Holland (guitar, vocals, samples), Max Goulding (percussion, samples) and Benjamin Salt (bass, vocals).
