Dreams by Color Palette

Darkenin Heart

The Washington, DC-based dreampop group Color Palette, led by main songwriter and singer Jay Nemeyer, has released a new song called Dreams. Like the rest of the band's music, it draws heavily from the sounds of Ride, Slowdive, and MBV.

In 2023, Color Palette are expected to release a brand-new EP, with their pop-bent vocal and guitar melodies being consistently the band's principle characteristics.

On the new song, Color Palette remark: "Most people simply don't have the time to do what they truly love. We've got to worry about rent, bills, world wars, health crises, and working a (sometimes) very unfulfilling job. Dreams attempts to capture this sentiment with the refrain 'our lights are bright, but they're fading fast.' In a world that is descending into chaos, Dreams seeks to unite us all under the umbrella of commiseration."

Dreams is a melodic and smooth shoegaze track which continues Color Palette's emergence, and generates a significant bit of moodiness and melancholy while maintaining a positive and warm atmosphere.
