Unlovers by Powder Horns

Darkenin Heart

Following the 2020 lockdown, songwriter Brett J Kent decided to pick up an electric guitar, instill an overflow of mental strength, and unearth something within himself that had been completely submerged. Brett immediately began working on songs in a small home studio, recording each instrument each one at a time, including drums. Powder Horns is Kent's garage/punk project whose sophomore album Dissolution is coming out on March 10th, 2023 via Dem Daisies.

The new songs arrived, and Brett realized that his history of working in record stores, music venues, and recording studios had ingrained strong concepts and values about effective music writing. He couldn't have not been impacted by his 15 years spent in and surrounded by music.

Brett was finally capable of facing his personal struggles and channel them into songs that are intense and bold.

Powder Horns met Adam McDaniel and Alex Farrar, the studio masters behind the boards at Asheville's lauded new recording studio, Drop of Sun. They worked next to each other to see the ideas through to completion. From the start, it was all true bonding.

Unlovers is the album's first single, an energized song with a lot of grit. The song is accompanied by a simple but visually striking video.
