Pulsations Fill The Darkenin Heart Questionnaire

Darkenin Heart

What do you consider to be the darkest piece of music you’ve ever heard?
"Abscission" by Deathspell Omega.

How would you characterize your own music?
I’ve heard people say that my music is gloomy, slightly dramatic, atmospheric at times, catchy, and nostalgic for the 80s with a modern twist.

What are your musical aspirations?
My goal is to create an album that my children will want to listen to when they are older, and that conscious people can resonate with.

What are your main musical inspirations?
My musical inspirations include post-punk and darkwave classics such as The Cure, Sisters of Mercy, The Smiths, and Depeche Mode. I am also inspired by modern acts such as Twin Tribes, She Past Away, Actors, and Drab Majesty. In terms of lyrics, I draw inspiration from authors such as Lois Pereiro, Pablo Neruda, H.P. Lovecraft, Jules Verne, Franz Kafka, Hermann Hesse, George Orwell, García Márquez, Albert Camus, Jean-Paul Sartre and H. G. Wells, among many others.

What are your main goals in life?
My primary goals in life are to uphold the values of social justice, to continue learning and expanding my knowledge base, to be a supportive partner, to be a good parent and role model to my children, and to serve my community through activism and social responsibility.

What motivates you to create?
My passion for music, the desire to communicate my values and express my identity, and the need to relieve stress and satisfy my ego all motivate me to create.

Are you more of an early bird or a night owl?
Definitely the latter. Although being a night owl has a negative impact on my overall well-being (since I must wake up rather early in the mornings), I've found that the creative energy and inspiration that comes with staying up late is often worth the trade-off. Despite my efforts to change my sleep schedule, I've come to accept that I'm most productive during these hours. I use this time to work on my music, study, write, and pursue other creative projects, which helps me channel my energy and stay focused on my goals.

Besides music, what other art forms would you like to explore?
Besides music, I would love to explore literature and filmmaking.

Which is the very first record that had a big impact on you?
The first record that had a big impact on me was "Preludes, Airs & Yodels" by Penguin Café Orchestra.

What is the best decade for music?
Without a doubt, my favourite decade of music is the 1980s. But if I had to choose a less obvious period, I would pick the 1830s. This era was a remarkable time for music, with several iconic compositions such as Hector Berlioz's "Symphonie Fantastique," Chopin's "Piano Sonata No. 2," Verdi's "La traviata," Franz Liszt's "Grandes ‘etudes de Paganini," and Felix Mendelssohn's "Lieder ohne Worte."

What do your future plans include?
My plans for the near future include making a music video, and possibly performing live shows every now and then.
