With their new single, Big Nasty Palpitations, The Empty Page express the sudden fear of nuclear terror. Big Nasty Palpitations delves into the fear stemming from power-lust authoritarian, presenting a vigorous anthem has its roots in eighties post punk, industrial and alternative goth.
The Empty Page's Kel states: "Everyone I know has paper-thin mental health at the moment. The world is run by terrifying people who have little regard for us powerless humans who are just trying to get on with our lives. I woke up one too many times with the fear and reached for a pen at 3am to get those grim feelings out of my system. We've always been a socially aware band, and the new album definitely has a glittery, dystopian thread running through it that I think is very apparent on this track."
The Empty Page made a comeback in 2022 with the goth disco track Dry Ice, followed by the rock ways of Level Sedentary, released in March 2023. Big Nasty Palpitations marks the third single from The Empty Page's upcoming second album, scheduled for release later in 2023.
