The ethereal indie pop duo, dayaway, composed of Amber Renee and Graham Marsh from CLAVVS, revealed the upcoming launch of a fresh EP named blue summer moon, scheduled for release on August 30th, 2023 through Turn To Wind. In addition to unveiling the EP news, dayaway also unveiled the new song, i wish, along with an accompanying music video.
The duo describe the EP as "a collection of songs that tell a story of love and loss; each song is a new phase of that story." They add: "Naturally, we’re releasing it on the only blue moon of the year, August 30th, 2023."
Amber comments on the new song and video: "'i wish' is about being down bad for someone you can’t have. It’s super playful, but it’s also an angry fist-shake to the sky kind of song. You’re mad at yourself and you’re mad at the person you’ve fallen for and you’re mad at the circumstances. Most of the time, you can’t control who you love or when, so this song tackles the frustration of that experience.
"We made the video with that energy in mind. It’s part playful, part totally annoyed. We shot all around Queens, from Flushing Meadows Park to Jacob Riis Beach."
Once more, dayaway emerge, serving up bittersweet yet charming indie dreampop with their signature artistic class.
