Nightmare Without End by LUMER

Darkenin Heart

Nightmare Without End marks the first single from LUMER's upcoming EP. The song combines elements of eighties post punk and nineties shoegaze, resulting in a contemporary blend that draws inspiration from the band's big range of influences.

The single was recorded and produced by the band at Eiger Studios, mixed by Alex Evans and mastered by Tom Langrish. The song intertwines two distinct sections that contrast the initial despair of a character's loss with a subsequent opportunity for reflection, and explores the transition from sadness to happiness as the character finds solace in cherished memories, providing a sense of hope and consolation.

Lead singer of LUMER, Alex Evans, describes the song: “Nightmare Without End was a bit of a failed experiment into the idea of storytelling lyrics, of which I have always been so fond of. Instead, I guess it just deals with the loss of someone in your life for whatever reason and how you continue to pine for them in various different ways. It also has a lift of self-reflection, the realisation, the pleasure you can receive by looking at your past times.”
