Cathedrals by SECRECIES

Darkenin Heart

SECRECIES from Dallas, have unveiled the first track from their upcoming album Perfect Bite, set to release on May 17th, 2024 via Idol Records. The new song, Cathedrals, was written during the early aftermath of the pandemic, while the band's Shawn Magill was traveling to New York City. Their forthcoming album serves as a follow-up to SECRECIES' self-titled debut which was released in 2019.

The band's signature dreamy style blends atmospheric tones with electronic components, set against a rich backdrop reminiscent of a dreampop and shoegaze basis. Cathedrals features ethereal guitar and synth melodies accompanied by charming vocals. Ambient elements contribute to an alluring atmosphere which combined with heavily reverberated guitar work, bring to mind the band's shoegaze influences from the nineties.

SECRECIES’ new album, Perfect Bite includes band leader and songwriter, Shawn Magill on vocals, bass guitar, and synthesizer as well musicians Alex Bhore on guitar and synthesizer (composer/ producer for HALO video game, prior member of This Will Destroy You), Leah Lane on guitar (of Rosegarden Funeral Party), Dean Adams on percussion (of LoreleiK), and Ivan Beltran on drums (of Only Ever). The album was produced and engineered by Alex Bhore at Elmwood Recording in Oak Cliff and mastered by Dave Cooley of Elysian Masters in Pasadena, CA.
