Lay Down by Painted Vein

Darkenin Heart

Andrea Fox Volpato, a musician, producer, and audio engineer, has worked for the last ten years developing material for his craft by writing, recording, and touring with bands from all over the world. Painted Vein is Volpato's solo project.

He recorded, mixed, and produced both of the last studio albums of New Candys in his studio, as well as two albums by Seattle artist MØAA. Additionally, Volpato opened shows for artists such as Slowdive, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Dandy Warhols, and Black Angels.

His first album embodies everything he has acquired and encountered in the last ten years of being a musician. Lay Down is the lead track from Painted Vein's first album. Written during the pandemic, the song is a consoling and nostalgic stimulant for the soul.

The song's lyrics are an evocative depiction of the artist's innermost feelings and his longing to empathize with those who are suffering by being completely transparent.

In the greater Seattle region, on an icy lake located just outside of the woods, the accompanying video was shot at sunset.
