A Scaffold by Mahogany

Darkenin Heart

Mahogany is a shoegaze band that last released music in 2013, and they have returned with a new track, A Scaffold, which is a fresh perspective of the forward-looking style that first set them apart. The band utilizes elements of various styles such as post punk, shoegaze, disco, and classical to create a contemporary sound.

Andrew Prinz and Jaclyn Slimm have produced, designed, and remixed for artists such as Ulrich Schnauss, The Veldt, and Lovesliescrushing. Their discography already includes two highly regarded full-length albums, The Dream of the Modern Day and Connectivity!, as well as numerous singles, EPs, and compilation tracks included in the double-disc set Memory Column: Early Works and Rarities 1996-2004. They have performed live alongside artists such as Spoon, Bloc Party, Interpol, Luna, Broadcast, and many others.

A scaffold sets off Mahogany's return. The single sounds similar to the band's previous material, but it also introduces a more fresh sound that propels the band into an entirely new phase. The single was produced alongside Jeremy Scott at the Civil Defense studio in Brooklyn, New York.
