ghost beach by dayaway

dayaway, the idyllic dreampop project of Graham Marsh and Amber Renee, announces the release of their third EP, ghost beach, on August 14th, 2024 by their own independent label, Turn To Wind. The band filmed a video for the title track in an isolated part of Rockaway Beach.

Amber Renee describes the new single: “‘ghost beach’ is a song about revisiting the past and doing things over again. It’s about second chances. Of all the songs we’ve made for this project, ‘ghost beach’ has been the most fun. Initially I thought this song would be more of a sad, somber vibe until Graham started messing around with those amazing surfy guitar riffs. He transformed it into something way more fun and beaming with energy.”

With lyrics that instantly bring to mind summery beach days, ghost beach is a surf pop song complete with guitar riffs for which the band mentions inspiration from the classic style of Dick Dale and sixties girl groups. It has all the warm impressions we've come to expect from the band, and it's incredibly melodic.
