Yellow Flowers Bloom is the first single from Light Will Come Our Way, the debut album by Tilburg-Amsterdam post punk outfit Docile Bodies. It is a dark and immersive track brimming with the quintessential elements of underground post-punk.
The new album marks a shift towards a more confident view of nature for the band, reflecting on art, nature, and family, like their earlier material, their debut single Only This (2020), and their first EP Arc (2022).
Docile Bodies infuses their new work with gloom and sentimentality, drawing inspiration from the spirit of eighties post-punk. There are also hints of hopefulness in Yellow Flowers Bloom which demonstrates the band's expressive and imaginative abilities and reflects their attraction to nature-themed motifs and acute sounds.
