Girlfriends and Boyfriends unleash a thrilling mix of punk energy and the sleek polish of new wave, post punk, and indie rock on their latest release, Lost In The Noise. Building on the positive reception of 2021’s Fallacy of Fairness, the new album presents the band’s multidimensional sound, with some tracks recorded over a decade ago, adding a unique depth to their repertoire.
The band combines all those styles, and presents their straightforward punk proneness on the fiery track Ambulance to create a dynamic blend. A release like Lost In The Noise - a compilation of digital B-sides and singles recorded between 2009-2024 - highlights Girlfriends and Boyfriends’ impressive range, as they continue to come forward with genre-bending tracks that engage from start to finish. The album is out via Midnight Mannequin Records.
Ambulance was originally recorded in 2011. At the time, the band drew inspiration from iconic names like Devo, and British dance-punk acts like Late of the Pier.
"The song is about losing someone to addiction," Girlfriends and Boyfriends reveal.
