MOVIELAND was formed in 1991 by songwriter Alan D. Boyd and has an ardent following for their engrossing music. The band's unique sound, combines poignant, evocative lyrics with dreamy guitar layers and is firmly rooted in the nineties shoegaze / alternative rock scene.
The newly revealed track I Relate explores the intricacies of youth and self-doubt, capturing the anxiety of an audience that goes through the difficulties of a changing music industry. It is the first advance single from Then & Now, a long-awaited compilation of rarities by the cult shoegaze band. With its evocative lyrics and enticing guitar riffs, the single which was recorded during the band's early years, creates an amazing realm of nostalgia and sentimentality.
The song, which encompasses the band's individual merger of ethereal melodies and sincere, self-reflective lyrics, will be included on 604 Records' new archival label imprint, 604 Decades. The release date for Then & Now is December 13th, 2024.
