Rising from Jersey City, New Jersey, Neon Funeral is a band that fuses darkwave and post punk atmospherics with the intense sounds of hardcore, screamo and brutal vocals. With their new offering Perpetual Misery, a bold follow-up to their EP, Banned From the Goth Club, the group pushes further into a style that’s weightier and more nuanced.
Recorded at Timber Studios in Bayonne, NJ, and brought to life by engineers Connor Priest and Adam Cichocki, Perpetual Misery is a statement of resilience for the band. They share: “This is the last song written and recorded with our keyboardist before we had to part ways with him for a serious private matter. We've had a struggling year 2024 dealing with personal issues but we feel we have started a new chapter in the band. Our sound has refined slightly as well. The lyrics deal with our singers search for a spiritual connection in a world of materialism, demonism, isolation, and despair.”
