The Italian post-punk duo Kill Your Boyfriend's new EP, Disco Kills, was inspired by their drive to examine the aspirations, compulsions, delusions, and failures of young people who go to clubs and places during the "growth" years, when everyone is trying to figure out who they really are.
New track and video, Discretion, examines how a system of authority that ought to be free of secrets can fall apart due to a lack of truth. Through a sequence of echoes and reverberations, the sound evokes the feeling of a stuffy environment.
The concept of the video, which was shot by Alice Lorenzon, is a cramped and hectic dance floor in which we can express our true selves without hiding behind mysteries or the mask we must wear on a daily basis.
