Rain Song by Shadowing

Darkenin Heart

Shadowing emerges from Portland’s post punk underground scene, built around the collaboration of STRFKR’s Keil Corcoran and Philadelphia producer Justin Pittney who is also known for the project Lexicon Devil, and is a frequent King Dude partner. They’re joined by Matt DeLoach on multiple instruments and Spencer Stegeman handling vocals.

The band’s debut single, Rain Song, is part of Body Neutral, a five-track EP recorded and produced in Corcoran’s Portland studio. The song is a powerful introduction to the band, a brooding number with layers of pure energy, echoing the sound of The Chameleons, Bauhaus, and Christian Death among other first-rate names of the genre, while spiking in flashes of hardcore punk as well.

Corcoran and Pittney go back decades, first crossing paths in Las Vegas punk bands before reuniting. Corcoran’s extensive tenure with STRFKR adds notable credibility to the new project, while Pittney contributes his own touch to the sound of Shadowing, honed through years of songwriting and studio experience.
