No Relief by Shadowing

Darkenin Heart

Shadowing emerges once again from Portland’s underground, unveiling No Relief, their new single from their upcoming EP, Body Neutral.

Where their debut Rain Song traced the edges of post punk melancholy, No Relief dives headlong into a well made mix of synth bass pulsations, guitars that add to the beautiful atmosphere's intrigue, and black metal flashes that tear through the fog. The track is a study in tension with its rhythm pulled tight and melody threaded with menace.

At the core of Shadowing is a blend of different artistic minds. Keil Corcoran (STRFKR) brings the precision, while Justin Pittney (The Devil Is Real) conjures the atmosphere. The roster is rounded out by vocalist Spencer Stegeman, and multi-instrumentalist Matthew DeLoach.

“This one hits closer to what Shadowing sounds like in our heads,” adds Corcoran. “It’s darker, sharper - still melodic, but more relentless.”
