Returning for the first time since their 2023 album Indoctrination, Rival Cults are back with a new single on Dune Altar, another dark, mesmerizing offering steeped in gothic rock and post punk characteristics.
Dripping With Divinity is an ode to desire, disintegration, and the faint divine spark that shines on the far side of the empty space. It implies that genuine change frequently results from surrendering to forces greater than ourselves and allowing them to influence us in ways we cannot fully grasp.
The track invites listeners into a kind of ritual surrender, blending together mental images of death, divinity, and eternal bliss. In its world, mortality isn’t a final stop but a threshold, and a doorway to something infinite where body and soul melt into a higher union.
