A Dark Dream signals a refined new chapter for Psychic Guilt, the Portland-based post punk duo. The track shapes atmosphere into something moody and devastating, combining elements of dreampop, shoegaze, and darkwave, as the band's sound remains ethereal and emotionally heavy, built on cold textures and haunted melodicism.
Originally formed in 2017 by Amy Azucena and Conor Knowles (Dancing Plague), Psychic Guilt evolved through a series of releases culminating in Midheaven, a brooding full length defined by grace in decline. Reemerging in 2025 with a renewed lineup, Azucena joined by Griffin Campbell (Mind Prisoner, Nightsister), the project leans further into introspection, sharpening its post punk core while embracing the atmosphere of shoegaze.
A Dark Dream is based on a driving guitar line carried by soft melodicism, unfolding into something unsettling. It’s a track that feels dreamlike, hazy and at the same time deeply sentimental.
