Nashville darkwave band Mourning Candle has collaborated with Jacksonville dark electro artist SINA MATIX on their latest tune, Nightmare. The song is Mourning Candle's debut collaboration and an important creative move for SINA MATIX as well.
Nightmare will be featured on SINA MATIX's upcoming collaborative album, Ladies of the Underground, which will be released in March 2026. The project features female vocalists from various goth, darkwave, industrial, and underground electronic genres, and is intended as a present-day tribute to classic nineties goth collections such as The Disease of Lady Madeline.
The song drifts on a pulse of dark electro tension, slipping into the uneasy space between sleep and the fears that surface as you wake where memories and longing blur together. The result that emerges is a mysterious, compelling blend of gloomy electronica and darkwave.
Nightmare uses customary dream imagery to explore themes of losing control, seeking escape, and confronting what disturbs our lives. Benson's delivery brings the mental pressure to the forefront.
“This is the first time we’ve tried harmonies on a track,” Benson says. “The vocal layers reflect the dynamics behind the lyrical meaning.”
