French band Curtain return and sound renewed. The coldwave band, responsible for two albums and an EP throughout the 2000s, has always operated where the darkness meets melancholy. Their sound is defined by driving, dancefloor-prone rhythms, melodic bass lines, sharp and distinctive guitar tones, inventive synth textures, and vocals that cut deep with emotion.
Their new single Fire burns with nocturnal intensity. Pulsing and enchanting, the song radiates vitality while remaining rooted in the dark. An irresistible momentum sits at the heart of it, as a track that's designed for figures in motion under darkly lit ceilings.
The band unveils: "The line is thin between the deep desire to be the best version of ourselves and the demons that sometimes haunt us.
Torn between what we impose upon ourselves and what our inner freedom longs to express.
An intimate fire consumes us — it warms us, yet sometimes it burns.
The night world offers that space for letting go…
The underground clubs are among those extravagant sanctuaries where souls and bodies are set free.
Singular places where bodies intertwine in fleshly, tormented, and vibrant mazes.
Fire is the reflection of these clashing emotions. It is also a tribute to the underground Parisian venue the Caves Saint Sabin (where the clip was shot) and to the very famous dark and goth music parties organised there since 40 years by Thierry Boucanier, the king of the creatures of the Parisian nights."
Curtain are currently finalising their new album with Franck Amendola (Corpus Delicti) as producer, to be released early 2026.
