Hailing from Central Florida, Matt Messore of Cathedral Bells has formed the electronic project Midi Memory. Taking direct inspiration from darkwave and synthpop influences, Messore combines lush analog Roland sounds and eighties synths with powerful drum loops and chorus-style vocals.
Midi Memory’s new single burn all away feels like the purest example yet of how the dream‑soaked qualities of dreampop can be twisted into something darker, more feverish, almost nightmarish. The track pulsates with a shadowy intensity, and despite its brief two-minute-plus runtime, it is not shy about making an impression and making its voice heard.
