Emerging from Stockholm’s reliable dark electronic underground, ARMOURS arrive with Confront, a debut single that immediately establishes the trio’s bleak and confident identity. Formed in late 2025 by designer Håkan Ängquist, coder Thomas Isberg, and artist Bengt Rahm, the project pulls heavily from the synthpop, post punk, and EBM movements of the eighties, combining drum machines, vintage analogue synths, industrial textures, and commanding baritone vocals into something cold and cinematic.
As the first in a planned sequence of releases throughout spring and summer 2026, Confront feels like a a fully realized first statement. The track drives forward with steady momentum, balancing danceable electronic rhythms against an atmosphere thick with tension and shadow. The vocals stand among the track’s strongest qualities, carrying a haunting presence that amplifies the song’s darkness without overpowering its hypnotic flow.
