Santiago synthpop duo Vioflesh reach the point where compassion hardens into detachment on Your Blood, a coldwave track drawn from Dark Bellow. Betrayal and emotional exhaustion haunt the song, but its true subject is the clarity that emerges once someone finally stops giving.
Vio’s voice carries the ache of a person drained by devotion, while Flesh surrounds her with tense synthesizers and stark electronic programming. The production remains controlled, allowing its sense of quiet revenge to develop beneath the surface. Pain is present throughout, yet it no longer holds power over the narrator.
Formed in Santiago, Chile, in 2017, Vioflesh consists of Vio on vocals and lyrics and Flesh on keyboards and programming. Drawing from synthpop, darkwave and electroclash, the duo create shadowed electronic music where emotional directness meets the severe beauty of the machines.
