Materializer were born from both collapse and reinvention. After eight years with The Swell Fellas, years filled with DIY shows, creative evolution and tours alongside King Buffalo, All Them Witches, YOB, Cave In and ASG, brothers Conner and Chris Poole reshaped the project into something leaner, darker and more deliberate.
Unwind carries some of the band's history. Layered guitars and driving rhythms gradually enter dissonant, drone-heavy territory, reaching some of the most punishing moments on As The Body Flies. As the album’s final advance single and central mantra, it captures Materializer’s defining tension. Seasoned precision meets the raw urgency of a new beginning, with transformation, resilience and identity embedded beneath the weight.
