Mortality can turn every uncertainty into a prophecy of disaster. On their new offering, Transit Fear, Shadow Age inhabit a mind consumed by the worst outcomes, unable to stop imagining the finality waiting beyond each moment. The song leaves open the possibility of the symbolic death of an old self, but the final effect might lead toward transcendence.
There is a tension throughout that gives the track its unusual charge. Propulsive drums and throbbing synthesizers pull it forward, while the vocals and volatile guitars suggest a consciousness suspended between terror and revelation.
Cinematic, hypnotic and shadowy, Transit Fear finds Shadow Age looking through darkness toward whatever may exist on the other side.
