Anton Newcombe's remix of Dot Allison's Cue The Tears blends a psychedelic bent with dreampop ethereality to create something reminiscent of the world of Twin Peaks and its soundtrack.
This is not Dot and Anton's first partnership, since the two musicians have previously collaborated on the soundtrack to the UK TV series Annika. This new offering cements their artistic connection for yet another strong musical moment.
Dot is more than an underground pop figure, recognized for her collaborations with My Bloody Valentine's Kevin Shields, Massive Attack, Sunn O))), and the late Andrew Weatherall, in addition to her solo work.
The Entangled Remix EP comes out on May 27th, 2022, including remixes from Lee Scratch Perry, The Anchoress, Saint Etienne and Lomond Campbell, together with this new rendition of the song, originally on 2021's Heart-Shaped Scars album by Allison.
