DARLING. is Caitlin Finn (ex-Dorothy and Dog) and Joel Glazebrook's (Edith Thomas Furey) bedroom project, blending the gloomy textures and shoegaze qualities of the past projects in which they were involved. DARLING. have spent the times of the pandemic perfecting their sound, which represents their own hopelessness and excitement. The duo's sound integrates a variety of other influences, such as post-punk, dreampop, and new wave.
Midnight is an ethereal and enveloping listen, with a unifying dual vocal delivery at the front, some nearly psychedelic guitar work, and the duo's obvious fondness for eighties post punk and goth sounds.
