KAARST is a new project by musician, writer and visual artist Sam Haven, known for his dark album Sanctuary, his 2021 book The Art Of Leaving, as well as exhibitions of oil paintings. With ambient sounds merged with elements from gothic, new wave and electronic underground music, the new project is meant to become a platform for musical and visual collaborations in a live setting. KAARST makes a debut with the standalone single The Promise, ahead of a debut EP which will be released via CRUCIBLE in late 2022.
The Promise, accompanied by a superb music video shot and produced by Sam Haven himself, confirms KAARST's emergence, and it is a genuine and somber expression of what is to come.
The Promise is a deeply moving and quite imaginative piece of work with a gloomy electronica and darkwave focus, equivalent to the artist's output in other art forms.
