karoshi (Over a Dream) by Linebeck

Darkenin Heart

Dreamlike power-pop band Linebeck from Hamilton, Ontario, ended 2022 with a bang and are back with their new single, karoshi (Over a Dream). The song finds the band sounding very vivid and excited to move onward.

"'Karoshi' means 'death by overwork' in Japanese," the band explains. "'karoshi (Over a Dream)' is about just that - it's about hating your job and balancing it with chasing an unachievable dream."

The new single is a melodic and jangly track with a snarky lyrical content, as well as enchanting female vocals, which draws inspiration from R.E.M. and the Smiths among others.
