Spirit Award is the moniker of Seattle-based singer/songwriter Daniel Lyon and Sunny Day Real Estate bassist and collaborator Chris Jordan. Western Violence is the latest single from the band's upcoming album The Fear, which will be released on May 19th, 2023 via Share It Music.
Daniel Lyon says on the song: “This song fitting in with the theme of the rest of the record is about finding the truth. Asking the questions that challenge your beliefs. Finding the facts, and weed out the things that don’t stick. The things that you may have from your upbringing, bias or your ego.”
Trevor Spencer (Beach House, Father John Misty) co-produced and mixed The Fear, which is an examination of the uncanny, love, dreaming and waking, and most importantly, addressing the things that frighten you or you believe you can't achieve.
