Rust by Lila Ehjä

Darkenin Heart

Lila Ehjä from Paris, operates as a one-girl-band, presenting a sound which she dubs "froide wave," drawing inspiration from her childhood favorites such as Nine Inch Nails, Bauhaus, and Jessica93, with elements of shoegaze and black metal. The artist's creative process takes root in the privacy of her bedroom.

Creating electric soundscapes in a private and intimate setting, Lila Ehjä delves into realms where darkness reigns, melding hazy, melancholic atmospheres with foreboding undertones. With a name meaning "night," Lila intricately layers a range of cold and repetitive sounds, paying respects to long, difficult nights.

One of the tracks from the new album Clivota, released in January 2024 from CROUX records and Tout Doux records, is Rust, serving as an ode to misanthropy. It immerses in a haunting trip lasting seven minutes, characterized by dark, rhythmic, and moody auras that conjure an alluring atmosphere.
