Ghost Town by Isolated Youth

Darkenin Heart

Ghost Town is the most recent taste of what Swedish post punk group Isolated Youth's debut album, miserere mei, will contain. Created amidst the pandemic, the process of recording was hampered by frequent testing and periods of isolation. However, Isolated Youth received assistance from co-producers Max Heyes, who is well-known for his work with artists such as Primal Scream and Rolling Stones, and Faris Badwan, the frontman of The Horrors.

Ghost Town finds the band in a highly expressive mode and serves as a pure dedication to the post punk sounds of the past which have inspired Isolated Youth.

Isolated Youth explain: “The track was meticulously crafted in an underground rehearsal space adjacent to a forest cemetery in Stockholm. This eerie and haunting setting, characterised by a perpetual cold wind and unsettling fake bird chirps designed to guide blind people, might not have been traditionally inspiring, but it undeniably influenced our music in profound ways. The environment became an integral part of their creative process, imbuing our work with an indescribable essence.”
