Los Angeles-based shoegazers Osnova unveil Waiting for June, their new single, released through Dune Altar. The song is a very good showcase of the band's shoegaze sound which is dreamlike and expansive.
According to the band: "Waiting for June is about looking back on what you’ve gained and lost while growing and changing throughout your childhood. The title itself comes from that feeling you got when you were a kid- always looking forward to the next fun thing, the school year to end, the summer to start. But when it’s all over is when you realize that what was so special was being in those moments you wanted to pass. And what’s left is the nostalgic romanticizing of it all."
The song creates a sense of desolation and introspection, with motifs of sorrow and change woven throughout the lyrics. The track expresses the experience of navigating through teenage years and early adulthood, marked by bewilderment and transformation.
