Merry Xmas by Stuffed Foxes

Stuffed Foxes unveil Merry Christmas, the second single from their upcoming album, Standardized, along with its accompanying video. The album is out through Bristol’s Stolen Body Records and French labels Reverse Tapes and Figures Libres.
Merry Christmas was conceived at Bourges’ music venue Nadir, during the same sessions that produced Biting the Dawn. The two tracks share a common origin, but their styles diverge a lot. Built on a ternary rhythm and an almost danceable drum pattern, Merry Christmas is driven by unpolished guitars clashing with minimal effects.
The track came together when Léo spontaneously sang, “I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.” The line felt playful and unexpected, complementing the music's irreverent spirit.
The video, directed by Flavie Herbreteau, offers an artistic visual counterpoint. Set on Guesclin Beach in Saint-Coulomb and shot with a camcorder to mimic the feel of a home movie, it depicts rich revelers indulging in an over-the-top Christmas feast. It escalates into a dark satire of consumerism as the partygoers devour everything in sight, including an entire Christmas tree. The surreal spectacle recalls Denis Villeneuve’s 2008 short film Next Floor, blending absurdity with biting social commentary.
