SHUDDER is the newest release from Australian self-proclaimed death-pop duo VOWWS. The track will appear on their forthcoming album I’ll Fill Your House With An Army, set for release on October 24th, 2025 through Out of Line Music.
The single boasts heavyweight collaborators that stand out. James “Munky” Shaffer, guitarist of Korn, Josh Freese, the drummer celebrated for his work with A Perfect Circle, Nine Inch Nails, and more, and the album’s production benefits from the mind of Billy Howerdel (A Perfect Circle), who served as co-producer.
VOWWS comment: “The lyrics started with one phrase… I dreamt the line ‘I’ll get you into any trouble you want’ and the rest of it just flowed from that. It’s about the mischievous and destructive spirit inside all of us, it’s part of us, but it’s also separate and mysterious and uncontrollable. It’s always waiting to burst out and break everything we hold dear, everything that’s holding us in place.
“Deep down, I feel like we’re all kind of waiting in anticipation of that, the Shudder, the emotional earthquake that will set us free.”
James “Munky” Shaffer adds that the song is a “wonderful collaboration with a wonderful band”, and that he also “always wanted to play with Josh Freese.”
Accompanying the song is a surreal music video that feels unsettling and mesmerizing, directed and edited by VOWWS’ own Rizz.
With SHUDDER, VOWWS fuse shadowy gothic tones with atmospheric pop brilliance, creating a track that lands with both elegance and impact.
