Sweet Gravity EP by Snowcuffs
March 08, 2026
Chicago dreampop outfit Snowcuffs have unveiled the final two tracks completing their new EP Sweet Gravity, extending the haze and glow of their sound while revealing two distinct facets of their approach.
With its hyperactive guitars and whimsical rhythms, Sunless leans into a vibrant, optimistic shoegaze palette, giving the song a little odd pulse. The song stays both upbeat and melancholic because its warm, glowing arrangement pushes against lyrics about devoted love on the verge of falling apart, creating a tension that keeps the whole thing emotionally charged.
Cold Memories moves in the opposite direction, a dark, atmospheric piece built on layers of fuzzed-out guitars that gradually swell into a cathartic finish. The song has a strong emotional undertone as its themes of desire, loneliness, and separation blend in like haze.
Taken together, the EP feels cohesive and assured, marking a clear evolution from the band’s earlier, more reserved first steps and presenting something far more fully realized.
