Kino by Kallsup

Darkenin Heart

An impressive level of detail is running through Kino, the latest single from Swedish dreampop group Kallsup. Rather than leaning purely on atmosphere, the track thrives on emotion and instrumental precision, as guitar lines shimmer against carefully layered synth work while the rhythm section keeps everything moving with a subtle but constant propulsion. This is a song that comes with a cinematic sweep without compromising a sense of connection.

The accompanying video mirrors that same sensibility. Bathed in dim light, soft textures, and beautiful imagery, it extends the song’s dreamlike mood into something almost hypnotic, emphasizing the reflective undercurrent flowing beneath the track’s brighter melodic exterior.

Following their debut album En sista räddning, the band returned to the studio almost immediately to begin work on its successor, Alldeles för nära, set for release in fall 2026 through VÅRØ Records. Kino serves as the first glimpse into that record, and it finds the band operating with a noticeably broader sonic palette.

Despite its lush production, Kino never feels overcrowded. Instead, Kallsup manage to create something immersive while maintaining clarity in both composition and performance.
