Following the release of two records issued simultaneously, one under the Street Sects name and another via their more confrontational alter ego Street Sex, the Austin duo return with No Percentage In Caution, a new single arriving through the label run by longtime collaborators and current tourmates Portrayal Of Guilt.
The track is vicious, claustrophobic and strangely reflective, twisting themes of mortality and consumer obsession into something both abrasive and deeply human. Rather than relying purely on shock value, Street Sects channel their turmoil into something more focused, allowing the tension to simmer beneath every distorted pulse and noisy moment.
Functioning almost like a turning point for the project, the No Percentage In Caution seven-inch brings together the band’s earlier cut-and-paste noise experiments and the sharper, rhythm-heavy songwriting direction they’ve recently been moving toward. It’s lean, immediate and emotionally exposed, and a track that feels torn directly from real experience.
