References to CIA coups, secret agents, love triangles, urban intimacy and internet-age alienation collide within a narrative that is both personal and political. Sarcasm and irony sharpen the suggestion that history never truly changes.
The throbbing synthpop groove keeps the track totally danceable, even making the bleakness feel oddly seductive.
